The route runs along the border between East and West Sussex. It starts at East Grinstead, where it joins the Sussex Border path (running around the border of Sussex from Emsworth to Rye). The path ends at Fishersgate station in Portslade.

The route is way-marked with the green Martlett, and shown on Ordnance Survey mapping as part of the Sussex Border Path.

In general, the theme for this walk was mud. There was a lot of rain in the weeks before the walk, and much of the walk was severely effected. We had to paddle many times, and occasionally got wet feet. This significantly reduced our walking speed at times.
